IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ

  • Volunteer assignments may require a volunteer to be on their feet for a substantial amount of time.
  • Upon submission you will receive your Confirmation and the Release of Claims and Assumptions Liability Form.
  • Print and retain the Confirmation for your records.
  • Print, sign and bring Release Form to Art Walk and give to Volunteer Coordinator at check-in.
  • If you need to cancel or change your shift, call the Festival Office at (704-338-1060).
  • Please arrive at the Volunteer Station at least 20 minutes prior to the starting time of your shift.

Volunteers may work more than one shift.

VOLUNTEER ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTIONS

  • Artist Relations and Information Booth: Artist Relations duties may include answering telephones, taking work-orders, artist/exhibitor booth sitting and other general artist related incidences. Information Booth duties may include handling sales of Festival T-shirts and posters, and other Festival merchandise; answering questions regarding the Festival (all information will be provided in notebook form).
  • Festival Handouts & Surveys: Distribution of Festival flyers at park entrances and taking surveys of Festival goers.
  • Festival Office: Assist Festival Headquarters personnel during the Festival with answering the telephone, running errands, maintaining the Hospitality Area.
  • Festival Setup: Assist with Festival setup prior to the event. Duties may include: office and stations setups; signage and decoration placement; exhibitor/vendor check-in; running errands and other miscellaneous assistance.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION

PARKING, DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP:

  • Volunteer Drop-Off and Pick-Up - corner of Morehead and Kings Drive.  Coordinate pick-up time - traffic is extremely heavy in this area and parking is unavailable.
  • Volunteer Parking –detailed information will be emailed out to all volunteers.
  • Do not block fire hydrants or driveways.
  • Do not park in a “NO PARKING” zone - car will be towed at your expense.

FREE LIGHT RAIL SHUTTLE TO THE FESTIVAL:

  • Running from the East/West light rail stop on Camden at West Blvd.
  • Shuttle will be running during Festival hours, every ½ hour

CLOTHING AND GENERAL APPEARANCE:

  • Please be aware that you will be representing Kings Drive Art Walk, and your work place or school - we request that your dress and appearance be appropriate.  Jeans or shorts are acceptable.

IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER:

  • If the weather appears to be inclement, please call the Festival Headquarters telephone number listed below to check on conditions at the Festival.

SNACKS AND BEVERAGES:

  • Free snacks and beverages available for volunteers in the Hospitality Area.

  • If you should be unable to work your assigned shift, please call to let us know.
  • This number may also be used if someone needs to reach you for emergency purposes.

CONFIRMATION:

  • Review your information and shift selections.
  • Once all information is complete and reviewed for accuracy, please click the submit button.

RELEASE WAIVER:

  • This form must be signed by you (and a parent or legal guardian if you are a minor).
  • Give to the Volunteer Coordinator when you check in for your shift.

PRIVACY:

  • We respect your privacy.  Your information will not be shared with anyone other than Festival in the Park staff.
