DIRECTIONS & PARKING
DIRECTIONS TO FESTIVAL IN THE PARK AT FREEDOM PARK
Note: Main entrance of the park is on East Blvd. a few streets past
Cumberland Avenue
FROM I-77 (EITHER DIRECTION)
Take I-277 East
Take the South Boulevard Exit
Turn left onto East Boulevard
Turn right onto Cumberland Avenue or continue to front entrance of Freedom
Park
FROM HWY 74 (MATTHEWS / MONROE AREA)
Take Independence Boulevard Exit
Take
a left on Kings Drive
Turn right onto East Boulevard
Turn left into front entrance of Freedom Park; or left onto Cumberland
Avenue
FROM HWY 74 (GASTONIA AREA)
Come into Charlotte, Hwy 74 turns into I-277 East
Take the South Boulevard Exit
Turn left onto East Boulevard
Turn right onto Cumberland Avenue, or continue to front entrance of Freedom
Park
FROM I-85
(EITHER DIRECTION)
Take I-77 South and follow directions
FOR FESTIVAL PARTICIPANTS AND VOLUNTEER
DROP-OFF/PICKUP:
Where Cumberland takes a hard right, go straight into
the parking lot (at the corner of Cumberland & Lilac)
There should be a security guard to show you where to park or drop off
volunteers.
Make
sure you have your parking pass to show the guard (art exhibitors will pick
up their pass at check in)
Report to Shelter (referred to as Festival Headquarters), adjacent to the
Cumberland Parking Lot on top of the hill from the bandshell.

at FESTIVAL IN THE PARK AT FREEDOM PARK
Parking at Festival in the Park
Each year as thousands of people congregate in Freedom Park for the annual
Festival, the question of parking is paramount on festivalgoers minds. This
handy guide will help folks know where (and where not) to park.
New this year is the “Light Rail” shuttle to
Festival in the Park

Running from the East/West light rail stop on Camden at
West Blvd.
-
Shuttle will be running during Festival hours, every ½
hour
-
There is no charge for shuttle ride.
Parking is
available Thursday and Friday after 5pm and all day Saturday and Sunday at:

Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School (Park Road and Princeton Avenue)

Myers Park Traditional School (Radcliffe Avenue near Queens Road)
-
Cost is $5 per car, proceeds benefit the respective schools.

Free shuttle transportation to Festival.
Additional
parking areas available
Friday after 5pm and all
day Saturday and Sunday at:

Carolinas Medical Center parking deck and lot (S. Kings Drive and East
Boulevard)

Cost is $5 per car, proceeds benefit Levine Children’s Hospital
On-street
parking is permitted on Queens Road between Radcliffe and Princeton avenues.
Please be considerate of the neighbors; do
not block their driveways and do not intrude on their property. Police will
be issuing citations and or towing for illegal parking.
