VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Artist/Exhibitor Booth Assistant - Assists artists and exhibitors by watching their booth when they need to take a break.

  • Children's Art Area Assistant - Ensure children have art supplies and assist them with creating their works of art. Keep area neat and free of litter.

  • Festival Handout Distributor - Distribute Festival flyers and stickers at the park entrances.

  • Festival Office Assistant - Assist with activities at Festival main office in the park. This may include answering the phone, assisting people who work in the office and running errands.

  • Festival Monitor - Make rounds of the park during the Festival to ensure operational efficiency. This may include checking on all the volunteer stations to ensure all is well.

  • First Aid Station - Assist the First Aid Station's Coordinator with any needs at the First Aid Station.

  • Information Booth Assistant - Answer questions regarding the Festival, information will be provided. Also, help with sales of Festival merchandise.

  • Parking Lot Assistant - Aid the police officers by helping to direct traffic in the parking lots.

  • Special Event Counter - Count the number of people who participate in various activities throughout the park within a 30-minute period of time.

  • Stage Crew Worker - General assistance to Stage Manager. Will include set up and tear down of the stage in between acts.

  • Volunteer Station Assistant - Assist the Volunteer Coordinator at the Volunteer Station. This may include checking people in and out and running errands as needed.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION

VOLUNTEER DROP OFF/PICK-UP AND PARKING - Volunteer drop-off and pick-up is the corner of Lilac and Cumberland. Traffic is extremely heavy in this area and parking is unavailable, so be sure that you have coordinated a pick-up time. Parking is available in the main parking lot off East Boulevard and on many of the side streets surrounding Freedom Park. Please be careful that you do not block fire hydrants or driveways.

WHAT TO WEAR - Jeans or shorts, T-shirt. It can be quite warm during the daylight hours, and we suggest bringing a light jacket for the evening hours. Bring a rain jacket if it looks like it may rain! Wearing sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat is also a good idea.

IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER - If the weather appears to be inclement, please call the Festival Headquarters listed below to check on conditions at the Festival.

SNACKS AND BEVERAGES - Festival Headquarters has a supply of free snacks and beverages for all volunteers. You may also purchase food from the many food vendors.
